Tavel Study Update: 8-14

3 T-D Senior Student Ambassadors Traveling to Arezzo, Italy

Dear T-D Family,

Three T-D seniors will be spending about 3 weeks in Arezzo, Italy under the watchful eye of Stella Ficai of the Liceo Vittoria Colonna Arezzo. Each student will be hosted by an Italian family and in so doing be able to enjoy Italia through a native’s eye.

Our students will return on September 13 accompanied by approximately a dozen Italian students from Vittoria Colonna. The Italians will need T-D host families. Any family, regardless of their children’s grade, can volunteer to host. The Italian students, average age 16, will be here from September 13-26.

London Bouhlev, Antonea Rufa, and Sophia Ventresca are T-D’s Student Ambassadors. This is actually Antonea’s second stint as a T-D Student Ambassador. We know this will be a valuable experience for our students and that they will do us proud.

Sincerely,

Dear T-D Family:

Prior to Thornton-Donovan School’s opening-just over 40 days away, any student in grades 8-12 who is interested in our Italian Exchange should contact me ASAP to initiate the process.

Our sister school in Arezzo, Italy is sending about one dozen Italian teenage exchange students to T-D in September from the 13th to 26th.

Any three T-D students wanting to travel to Arezzo in August and returning to America with the Italians on September 13th should contact me at headmaster@td.edu or 914-632-8836 to make arrangements.

Two other T-D families have “bitten” into the Sacred Geography travel study junket in April, 2020. A full itinerary was mailed to T-D families this week. Click here for a copy. A few more family members with links and lineage in Israel have offered references to us. Once again, T-D will be looking for speakers, entertainers, artists and performers to regale or enlighten us at dinner or lunch each day of the trip.

Please remember that there is a three-day add-on with Rome as our destination. Any contacts there would also be welcomed.

Shalom,

Douglas E. Fleming, Jr.
