Each year during the first week of February, Thornton-Donovan students explore sacred sites within the metropolitan area. Visits to neighboring cathedrals, churches, mosques, temples, and anywhere man bows down to pay respect, or looks up for special intention, are included in the scope of Glory Days. Past Glory Days visits have included Trinity St. Paul’s Church, Central Synagogue, Woodlawn Cemetery, the Chapel at Columbia University, even the lower level atrium of the Citicorp Building. These journeys bring powerful meaning to our students in their spiritual, architectural, engineering, anthropological, and historical significance. It is a week to quietly observe within and without.
