Rugby Quick Facts:
-Athletes focus primarily on 7s rugby but also participate in 15s
-All athletes are provided with shorts, jersey, & socks
-All athletes are required to have their own personal insurance and additional
rugby insurance through USARugby
-The team is sanctioned by USARugby & RugbyNY
-Mouthpieces are mandatory
-The program is partially sponsored by Tytan Rugby
-Practices are M-W-F from 3:15PM-5:30PM
-Open to grades 6-12
-All experience levels are welcome
Senior winger Chris Miles received nearly $100K to attend American
International College to play rugby. Chris is now mid way through his
freshman year and excelling. AIC is ranked #32 in the nation for 15s and
#6 for 7s.
A proud graduate of Thornton-Donovan school, Coach Schlitten learned how to
play rugby while on student exchange in Dublin, Ireland at CBC Monkstown.
Graduating in 2004, Mr. Schlitten went on to play for Iona College as a freshman
starter at the lock position serving as the main jumper during line-outs. Injuries
ended Coach Schlitten’s career early but not his love for the game.
